Growing Home in Kentucky and Southern Indiana

Trust is an essential component to a healthy pregnancy.  And while it is important that you trust your midwife, in my opinion, it is much more important that your midwife trust you.

I believe birth is a moment in time where anything is possible, the universe opens up and a newly formed being has the opportunity to be anything they choose.  As with many opportunities, success is  found in the sweat, tears and determination of the birthing person.

Trust makes all of those opportunities possible.  As a midwife I trust the birth process, even when it is slow and long and hard.  I trust the strength of families to support one another through the labyrinth that is pregnancy, birth and parenting.  I trust babies to know when is the right time to come, how to find the way and what to do once they arrive; hungry for the breast, our love and affections.

As a care provider, I am constantly honored to attend such private and pivotal moments of a person’s life as the birth of a new family member.  I respect those sacred first moments, irreplaceable and valuable beyond measure.
